THE WINTER OF OUR DISCONTENT 16 February 2012
Stand Up, Speak Up, Sign Up!
....this is what democracy looks like!
A Pictorial History

The epicenter of the labor movement resurgence and citizen uprisings in America started in Madison, WI. Hundreds of thousands of ordinary citizens descended upon the Capital City in protest of Governor Walker's radical agenda beginning in February of 2011.

As a freelance photographer, I have chronicled these protests with over 10,000 hi-resolution images inside the walls of the capitol, on the streets, and suspended in the air--from the Zombie Rights Parade (ravaged, para-human costumers) looking for politicians with "brains" to the rally remembering the immortal words of the Reverend Martin Luther King Jr.--these photos depict the breadth, scope and intensity of the protests. My press credentials gave me access only a few enjoyed.

A book of images is being created, titled "The Winter of Our Discontent… this is what democracy looks like!” Many of the images document the evolution of homemade signs that are poignant and sometimes hilarious. There were parades, rallies, organized stage events, sleep-ins, night vigils, etc. Gatherings were in the snow, the rain, and the dead of winter, with a sprinkling of sunshine now and then. The ground swell that started it all began here, at the Wisconsin State Capitol.

All images are original, copyrighted material by this author. The book would be a limited edition, visual experience with the Edward R. Murrow feel of "you were here." The images are “in your face" and the viewer can easily visualize an intimacy with protesters/participants. This book will be a true historical record from someone who was there through it all.

Would you do me a favor? We are twenty days away from pledges to print our labor celebration photo journal book" The Winter of Our Discontent...this is what democracy looks like". There is no profit in this book and the pledger gets a copy of the book and other perks. Please pledge to support this book before March 3rd.
